The Me In We Project
The first project that our class did in humanities this year was The Me in We Project. For this project our essential question was, how does your culture contribute to who you are as an individual and how does each individual shape the HTHI community? Throughout the project we wrote many different poems. After we wrote the poems we would make a collage based off that poem. Once we made three collage we got into groups and each group picked a community in San Diego. Your group would then research the community and find pictures that represent the neighborhood. After all the images were found we collaged them together onto a wooden building frame. Each group in the class would do this for different neighborhoods. Once each building cut out was done being collaged we mounted them to the wall and put lights behind it so that the whole project would look like the San Diego skyline. Overall I thought that this project was okay. There was a lot of work involved in this project and at times I was very stressed. I think that if I were to do this project again I would manage my time a little better so I wouldn't be as stressed.
