Describe how the life experiences of three different women influence Esperanza to only depend on herself in order to escape Mango Street.
What I learned
While we were writing our essays I learned many new things. When my teacher Jill first introduced the essay I was worried because I haven't ever written a professional essay. So I didn't know how to organize and writer one. Although overtime as Jill helped us through each paragraph I learned how to make a complete essay. I think that biggest skill that I learned was how to organize an essay. Jill gave us a handout that showed how to organize your paragraphs into an essay. this helped me so much in the writing process. I think that a skill that I need to work on or that I struggled with during this project was writing with casual language instead of present tense. When we finished our essays we had a final peer critique. My final peer critique grade was a 80/100. After the peer critique we had time to go back and fix the changes. After that we gave our essays to Jill and she gave us our final grade I received a 96/100.
